Dining Services

Dining services at the School of Mines range from individual meal packages for conference guests, to catered events, including planned refreshments for conference participants and full course meals for banquets. Please review the wide selection of options available from the university's food service provider, ARAMARK. Visit the Dining & Catering Services website for more information. For pricing information, contact Surbeck Scheduling.

All food or beverages served on campus must be provided for through Dining & Catering Services. It is against university policy to allow any other individual; group or company to prepare, serve or sell food or beverages on campus unless approved by the Director of Dining & Catering Services.

Dining Room Meals

All conferences are encouraged to contract for meals, as this provides the most convenient arrangement for your conference guests. Your guests can focus on the goal of your conference or special event when meals are planned in advance. If your conference guests will be individually responsible for their meals, an accurate number of guests per meal is needed. This is necessary in order to allow Dining Services to plan accordingly for your group. Youth groups (groups comprised primarily of person under 18 years of age) staying longer than three consecutive days must purchase at least two meals a day through Tech Dining & Catering Services.

South Dakota School of Mines offers breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. Notification of special dietary needs is required, and we will attempt to meet these requests.

Conference participants’ meals are served as all-you-can-eat/buffet style in the university dining facilities. Conference participants are offered a variety of options including the choice of a meat or vegetarian entree, a salad bar, and various sandwiches -- desserts include several options and ice cream is normally available.

Times for meal service are standard during the academic year. If you are planning an event during the summer, please give us your desired meal times and we will work to grant your request.
